The BEB team visited a government-run institution for children with disabilities—a place where the phrase “trapped behind the walls” felt heartbreakingly real. These children were not only confined by physical walls; many were also trapped in their own bodies, isolated from the world and, for too many, forgotten. The home was painfully under-resourced—one of the most challenging environments the BEB team had ever encountered. Among the scenes that stayed with them was a little boy in a wheelchair, sitting alone as flies covered his face and head.

Yet even in such a place, hope was present. BEB’s partners at the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services (MCDSS) are people who deeply believe that God sees these children and holds them close. Together, BEB and MCDSS are determined to make sure these children will no longer be invisible. Through Children First Software, every child in the institution will be seen and known—their stories recorded, their care tracked, and their safety strengthened. If a home cannot or will not improve, the system empowers accountability, making closure possible when necessary.

Though the visit was gut-wrenching, it renewed the BEB team’s resolve. They believe God knows each of these children by name and loves them as His own. Now, through this partnership, these children will no longer be forgotten.
