Nestled in the heart of Nigeria’s Abuja Federal District lies a children’s home that serves as a haven of hope and resilience. For over three decades, this home has been a beacon of hope, standing against the tide of harmful cultural beliefs that threaten the lives of innocent children.
This children’s home was established to rescue children at risk of infanticide. Twins and those with disabilities are among the most vulnerable. Under the leadership of a dedicated and compassionate pastor, the home has become a lifeline for these children, providing refuge and nurturing care.
Today, more than 250 children find solace within its walls. The introduction of Children First Software (CFS) represents a significant shift in the institution’s approach, from long-term care to active placement. This transformation is not just a change in operations but a reimagining of futures, offering children the prospect of loving, permanent homes.
With CFS, each child is no longer just a name with paper files but a vibrant individual with a visible, easily accessible digital record. CFS enhances connectivity between the children and potential families and is a leap towards ensuring that every child can grow up in a family setting, surrounded by love and support.
As the children’s home continues to evolve, it stands as a testament to the power of compassion and innovation. It serves as a reminder that while cultural traditions hold deep roots, they are not immutable. With courage and collaboration, change is possible, and with it comes hope of new beginnings for those who need it most.
